We read all the caliper posts here and in the vintage board and still don't understand where to use the caliper grease.
f
We have to replace the most of brake system from sitting 15 years so we bought caliper kits with pistons. The kits came with a red rubber grease. Should we only put the grease on sufaces of the rubber parts?
In my VW manual (Saab V4 has not arrived yet )they use a VW "Brake Cylinder Past" and coat the rubber components and entire piston. It states that the seals and piston will last longer. The manual also states that if the paste is not avalable then using brake fluid is acceptable.
Any clear definition here?
