HI, re the direction of travel. I think I got real lucky with the Weber I bought it has a quadrant plate on it and is attached to rear of the carbie (as I fitted it), and rotates anti-clockwise.
So the pedal lever moves up on the RHS of rod linkaege (as for the FoMoCo carbie), it then rotates the rod and the plate closest to the carbie rotates away from the carbie, pulling the quadrant plate. I connected them using a steel rod.
You're right a stop under the throttle would be good to stop overtravel, I'll look at that.
I have just done some checking and decided a rev limiter is the go to keep revs under 6000. She revs freely to 6,500+ but I've read this ain't too good for her. I'm better changing up as th etorque definately seem sok to then stay in second.
I don't know what your Autokhana courses are like, but ours have runs usually no more than 30 yards long with often a 150 to 180 degree turn at the end. I went wide an dsmooth last time (as against hand brake turns) and I think it will be good in 2nd.
