I hesitate to get into safety and tires... My Sonett's both have tires of that vintage, as my yearly mileage is pretty low. I've noticed that the back ones are starting to "check" a little, so I may replace them.
What size tires do you run? I tend to run 175's on my Sonetts, and have used 185's in the past, all on soccerball wheels. If you check places like Tire Rack, you'll find a selection to choose from- about $50 up to $100 per tire in the 175/65 size. More difficult is the 155 size. I run 165's on my 96's and get those from Amazon! Oh- Discount Tire Direct has a killer Memorial Day sale!
