Transmission grind when rapid acceleration 1st/2nd gear
Posted by John Phillips [Email] (more from John Phillips) on Sun, 17 Sep 2017 08:36:23
I have a light grinding sound when rapidly accelerating (from a stop) in first and (when accelerating) into 2nd.There is no sounds when a easy takeoff in 1st or into second gear. New clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, rebuilt slave/master cylinder and I think the proper 6/4mm rod adjustment. I will recheck the free wheel leaver and as I understand it to have no free wheel (no coasting down hill) you pull the leaver out or the nylon linkage is towards the firewall. I am still working out shifter adjustment. I have yet to check the trans fluid level. Repacked half shaft needle bearings with bearing grease but used the as supplied grease when installing new CV boots. I would appreciate help you can give.
