I have a tip to make it easier to remove the engine, esp. if you have a fixed lifting point. It involves cutting out the formed front angle iron piece at the top of the engine box. This sounds serious, but is not bad.
Get two suitable pieces of angle iron to use as splices. Then drill holes in them and in the front top piece on either end to mount it togeter. This allows you to bolt everything back together with correct spacing once you cut the top piece. Cut just inside of the corner bracing to leave it intact. This leaves a nice, but tight opening at the front that will allow the engine to move forward without having to go up.
I guess this sounds confusing, so perhaps I can illustrate. This would be at the front of the car:

Cut at "^" and "repair" with angle iron.
Got this tip from Jack Lawrence. Sure wish I had it when I had to free my rear motor mount and pull the engine, but it sure helped the replacement job go so much faster and easier.
