I did the angle iron thing with my Sonett years ago. It works best if you first place your angle iron over the radiator top frame and drill the holes you are going to use to retain it. I recommend four bolts on each side. After you have drilled through both the frame and the new piece of angle iron you can hacksaw off part of the frame between your new bolt holes. This method retains the exact spacing for the radiator.
