Yeah, you've got what I was talking about!! The flexible steel lines have the BUBBLE flare end. I've purchased the LONG (10' I think) length of VW brake lines to try to use, but I've yet to find a double female coupler that adapts the BUBBLE flare tips. Maybe they don't exist, I dunno...My other chance to not have to mess with flaring tools is to find a female coupler that connects 2 male threaded ends with 1 BUBBLE tip and the other double flare tip (yeah right).
Or perhaps I'll just get Paragon Performance to custom build me some flex lines that have female 3/8" AN connectors to accept the standard type brake lines on one end, with the normal male end to connect to the front calipers.
After screwing with the flaring tool for several hours more than I had wanted to, I'm down to just one leaking hard line. Still, I don't have a good feeling when I compare my double flare connections to factory made ones....My tips are kinda crooked and funky looking....I may get it to not leak under my initial test, but what about when I slam on the brakes on the highway to avoid a rear-end collision?
I may just have to bring this to a "real" brake shop as mentioned earlier to get a good job done....
