Should be easy to tell which one you have via configuration. Original exhaust has a tube from each bank running down through the floor and connected via a crossways balance pipe, then out dual exhausts that run down the outside edges of the floor into mufflers tucked up into the rear wheel wells. MSS system has a tube from each bank running down through the floor and then backwards to join at a Y near the transaxle drain plug, then back through a SINGLE pipe with large, flattened glasspack under the middle of the car and out the back.
Either way, yes, it's a huge pain getting at that particular nut. Previous advice for relieving strain on pipe etc. helps you get it undone once you reach it, but getting AT it is still difficult. One thing to try if you haven't done so already is to remove the right front wheel and see if you can snake your hand in through the ventilation or suspension openings in the wheelwell to get a wrench on it. Or, again with the wheel off, you might try putting a lot of extensions on a socket and going at it upwards through one of these same openings.
