Shifting Problems

I'm having some problems getting my '73 Sonett to shift well. The shifting from anywhere to second is a real problem. The transmission is out of a '68 Sonett, and the cover plate has been rotated around to accomodate the floor shift. I thought it was the clutch, thus I installed new MSS components. I even put Torco 75 wt. tranny fluid in it.
I think this '68 tranny was rebuilt, it looked real clean when I inspected it, no metal shavings in sight.
I also noticed that there is only one bolt hole to hold the front bushing apparatus on the early transmission, while there are two supporting holes on the back of the ribed-cage transmission. I welded a washer to the chassis for additional support.
I've already had the bonnett off three times since 1997 repaint. I don't want to have to take it off again. I really want to sell this car, I also have a '68 Sonett and Porsche 911. Do I have to put another tranny in to do so? Would I get my money back? What should I do?
