Oil for Sonett

What is a good oil to use for both the engine and gearbox of the Sonett. Also what are the volumes in each. When I change from top gear into 3rd I need to double de clutch or it grates, would an additive help this or not. I would appreciate if someone could help me out.
Another question. I generally ride in the free wheel mode. Is liable to cause a problem in the long run.
