I have standard 165/15 Michelin tyres and by heart they have the standard rating that should go a bit beyond 100mph. At the last Spare Parts day in April somebody told me that you can run 175/70/15 tyres without rubbing, so maybe when the tyres are up for renewal I will investigate this option. Not so long ago the tyre shop told me the only producer left of that size was Nokian. For my 99 I changed then to 185/65/15 size. If I remember well I read that the standard size for the New Mini is 175/70/15, so maybe here is an option open.
I managed to solve the vibration problem partly by giving some nuts and bolts a little extra tightening twist. The extra was a maximum ± 1/8 of a turn, so it was not much but it made quite a difference.
