I have the Holley setup on my 68 and 74. I re-jetted the 68 to take care of the stumbling after lots of unsuccessful tweeking. The acceleration now from idle (1200 due to F4 cam primarily)to 5500+ is smooth now, while the stock 74, same carb setup without re-jetting hesitates as you describe. Both setups came with a spare jet from MSS. Hope this helps.
