It could be the throw out bearing,but I would say that it sounds more like the transmission main shaft bearing.When you push the clutch down the main shaft stops turning and the noise go's away,a bad throw out bearing will be making a noise when the clutch is held down.If the clutch is ajusted right the throw out bearig does not turn when the clutch is released.
