For starters the pipes of the header must be shortened; if you don't do that the downside will hang very low under the front and if there are any speedbumps in your area your will hit each and everyone of them. Shortening on the right hand side won't be too much of a problem as the top side of the header is a separate piece that is clamped into the main part. On the left hand side it is handiest to weld a cuff onto the main part and then clamp the top part in the same way as on the right hand side. This is all overseeable; the bitchy part is at the rear.
Measured from the back axle the rear end of a Sonett is ± 4 inches shorter than of a 96. This will mean that the rear muffler must be put forward. Problem here is that the pipe that runs between the main muffler and the rear muffler is shaped in such a way that if it is shortened it will most likely get into conflict with the axle when this is in full downward position. You may win some room by shortening the connecting pipe that sticks out of the rear muffler, but the problem here is that this pipe is bent downwards and ther is't too much straight pipe between the back of the muffler and the beginning of the bent. Welding and cuffing here at the colder part of the exhaust system may result in early rust. If the rear axle is still in the way you may end up with a backpipe hanging very low.
This all doesn't mean that it won't fit. On the same site with the articles the first one is about how to put a Highgate exhaust to a Sonett. That article happens to be mine and I experienced the same problems as I described now, but than double, so you'll be having only halve the sorrow :). I managed to get it on, but on the rear side the pipes had to go under the lowest point of the axle. So far it never hit anything but from the side it looks a bit messy.
