acoth to understand lugging you must understand "stall speed" something your technician should have taught you... Stall speed is the engines ability to stay runing from a stop.... maual tran's is different ..the stall speed is around 1800 rpm's... auto tran's has a hydro elastic stall speed of around 2600 rpm's.. now lugging or running your engine below stall speed will increase engine oil temp's which is not good on a car that you change the oil every 15k
