A magazine recently had an article about horse power between older and newer cars. The HP increase has been unbelievable. I forget which magazine it was, though. Also, I regularly get smoked by trucks and minivans in my Viggen. However, I'm not fond of being hard on the transmission just to try to be faster than them. And, once I get into third gear, they'd be gone. I also think that people in those monster vehicles drive too fast anyway. I was going up a hill near me at about 15 mph over the speed limit, and an SUV (Lexus?) came roaring up the hill then sat on my bumper. I was already going 15 mph over the speed limit -- how fast do I need to go? I also got a ticket by a cop who pulled up out of nowhere (he must have been going really, really fast -- it was about 5:30 in the morning and dark and when I turned onto the street, his lights were no where to be seen, then all the sudden he was behind me), then proceeded to tailgate me, slowing down when I slowed down and speeding up when I sped up, then pulled me over and told me I was going too fast. Heck, I was trying to get out of his way -- I seriously thought I was in a road rage incident. Anyway, I no longer go faster when a car is behind me.
