Much like the other observations, I tried my 03 Linear with 89.5 (Sunco) versus 91 (Shell) and 92 (Sunoco). I found that the car was a little sluggish with the 89.5 versus the 91 or 92 and mileage was about 5% worse (9.2l/100km vs 8.7l/100km) with the 89.5. There was no difference between 91 and 92 though. How did you other guys manage to get in the 7l/100km? I've never gone less than 8.5?
I'm going to try 94 next, but am hesitant. I've run my other car (LT1 Corvette) on 94 for the longest time, and can't switch back to 91 or 92 cause it will start knocking despite new plugs and a tune up).
Running the lower octane probably delays ignition timing which causes the power loss, hence you step on it more, and it uses more gas.
Just my two cents
