2006 base price for a 9-3 Aero sedan is $31,900 + $720 destination = $32,620. That's a stick shift, non metallic (black or laser red, no polar white in Aeros I dunno' why) car, but for 2006 in addtion to the the standard sunroof, xenon headlights and a 6 disc in dash CD changer are stadard too. The 2005 with comparable equipment and the 210hp 2.0T is about $34,700 list.

My best guesstimate is that it will be quite awhile until dealers order any strippees or base cars and it will also be quite awhile until there are enough to be sold at supplier prices, dealers don't have to sell at reduced margins to employees or suppliers. Look for the cars to have metallic paint $550, cold weather package $550, touring package which includes memory seat, park assist, rain sensing wipers, auto-dim/HomeLink inside mirror, remote opening-express close windows and roof $1,495, and maybe even nav $1,995 and the vast majority to have automatic so likely around $36k w/out nav and $38k with nav.

Now with 250hp V6 and $36k loaded I don't think Saab will lose as many customers to G35's and TL's so a slight shift there could make the car a runaway hit and therefore tough to find at a discount. As another comparison an '06 BMW 330i with auto. sport and premium is $42k+
