2003 9-3 Arc CPO Problems

Against my better judgement, I bought a Certified Pre-Owned 2003 ARC with about 27 K on it. I have read that the first year models are unreliable, but I was shocked that, within 72 hours after buying this "certified" car:

1) The gas gauge malfunctioned and showed the tank to be empty when it was actually just filled by the dealer before delivery

2) The check engine light came on ( I took the gas cap off to see if this would make the light go away but the light is still there after playing with the gas cap).

3) I tried to activate the On-Star System and subscribe and the On Star people say that something is wrong with the car's equipment, and that only the dealer can fix it.

You would think that this car, being 2.5 years old, and the previous owner having had free maintenance, would have no more bugs.

Anyone know what I should do? Is it a lemon?
