I find it curious that you are criticizing the 9-3SC regarding its size, when its direct competition (A3/A4 wagon, 325xi, V50, etc) do not have appreciably larger interiors. Why are Audi, BMW and Volvo building THOSE cars?? I find your crticism specious.
The 9-3SC is not pretending to be a larger car-it is merely a more practical version of the 9-3 sedan.
I have two carseats in the back if my Aero SC and they fit fine, and though it will not fit a 3rd seat, neither will the 9-5. If you need more room, get an 7/8 passenger SUV or a minivan. Inasmuch as I love my new 9-3SC, when I need more room-I have (well, my wife has) an '05 Odyssey to tote the family around.
I love the 9000 (particularly the 91-94MY), in many respects the model that modernized the brand. However, I'll take my 9-3 Aero SC over any 9k any day-especially in an accident. Modern technology and the latest safety gizmos win over sentimentality.
