You are correct of economy of scale dollar wise on the V6. But that doesnt make a beter powerplant. Sludge is something that Saab is not alone in the world. About 6 companies are having the same conplaints including failures. The 9/3 SS has a better chasis to handle the power then the NG/900 9/3. The lower power was due to the chasis over the powerplants inability to produce the power.
