My 2003 93 interior started to peel the black thin lining that covers the shaft of the gear shift (right at the level of the flat plate that has the gear shift labels) as well as the shifter plate itself, at the most anterior rim. It wouldn't be annoying if Saab made the internal plastic material that is covered in this black rubbery thin lining also in black but since the flat plate and shaft of the gear shift is white, it's quite unattractive. I've made a page on the web with a picture showing the shifter plate as well as a picture of the interior of an 03 9-3 pointing to where the peeling is occuring, hopefully the link will show below with this post.

My 93 is still under warranty. Is this something that is covered??

BTW, my '03 93 Saab's warranty is for 3yr/36,000 miles but I've seen others mention (as well as various Saabs for sale online that are of the same make and year) that has a longer manufacturer warranty. Am I missing something? I did buy mine a couple months ago used, at ~ 31,400 miles and have put about 1200 miles on it thus far. Will probably make a list of items to get fixed before the warranty expires.
