Mike,
The Saab in the URL below is *not* a Certified Pre-Owned. The dealership doesn't sell certified pre-owned. The salesperson said (and I'm paraphrasing) that the extra money to get CPO would add too much on to the price, and that consumer demand for CPO wasn't that high in Illinois.
The price on the "Monday" special sticker was and I think they'd be willing to go quite a bit under that.
I test drove the car today and it was fine. I saw the "rusty bolts" on the wheels, and noted that. It does not have an Ipod hookup (but I saw you mention that this could be installed for a reasonable amount).
The '04 has the "Manual mode", which I thought was kinda cool, but I really liked the regular manual transmission on the '06 that i looked at. I did a Carfax report on the '04, and it showed 1 owner (lease).
I know most of you guys are Saab car buffs, and I appreciate the advice. I'm not much of a car buff, and don't want to pay upper $20 / lower $30 for a car. I've priced the 2006 Aeros, and even with the 0% financing, they're a little out of my comfort zone. They come close to the 2.0T, and are a really good deal, but again, it's just out of my comfort zone.
I'm also going to look up what exactly Certified Pre-Owned means in terms of Saabs. I heard that every manufacturer has a slightly different definition of CPO. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks,
--Nate
