Typical review for a 2003 model. We all know that buying a new car in the first year of a new model run is risky. I'm glad Automobile Magazine got one plagued with teething issues. They have earned such treatment over the years and few have been able to deliver it.

2004 models faired much better and by 2005 and 2006, life with a Saab is much, much better.

As far as the 9-3 falling in line with other 3-series wanna-be's is concerned, why? Why would you aspire to a vehicle with even more reliability issues than the 2003 9-3 Saab you just tested for a year?
