If you only have one key, go right now, not later, right now and get another key. First, you have to have one working key to program any additional keys so if you loose you only working key, you have to buy a new ECU (or whatever it's called, the unit that controls the security of your car) for around $900. Second, a key can only be programmed once - do not buy a used key; it cannot be programed to your car. And yes, the (new) key has to be programmed by the dealer or someone with a Tech II device.

So, get a new key from your dealer today. Remember, your key is two parts: the transponder (the remote that gets programmed to the car) and the physical key that slides into the remote. As I recall the physical key is the expensive part because it has to be laser cut. You don't need the key as much as you need the remote right now.
