The subject of oil changes always seems to bring up a lot of different opinions on how frequently it should be done, but as DBSAAB said, the scheduled interval is 10K miles or a year. I don't know if you have the Aero or not, but if not, then you have the same engine that I do in my '04. The interval on mine was supposed to be 15K! Personally, I don't drive enough to rack up enough miles, so I just get it done every 6 months or so. That's usually about 2500- 3000 miles for me. But if I did drive a lot of miles, I'd probably go 5 - 6K between changes. As to the SID, it takes into account some combination of time, starts, miles driven and has some kind of formula to figure out the life left. Even though the interval may be spec'd at 10K, I'd personally never go that much between changes. But I think there are probably some on this board who would!
