I was in Indianapolis on biz travel when the '06 Aeros made their debut in October 2005...so I stopped by Indy SAAB and talked to a sales rep there. I told him I was from New Orleans and that my local dealer was destroyed by Katrina, but I was interested in a Aero SC. He did a nationwide search for me, looking for options/color combos. The SCs had not made Stateside yet-so, we looked at 9-3SSes.

When I was Dallas I stopped at Sewell SAAB and Bluegrass SAAB in Lexington (biz trips) in late October, they did a nationwide searches for me, too. Calls to SAAB of Memphis, The SAAB Exchange in Chicago, and SAAB of Troy yielded the same results. Nationwide searches were not a problem for any of these dealers.

Didn't buy from them, but may have if Aero SCs were available.

I checked out my nearest dealer, Gerry Lane SAAB in Baton Rouge in November. The sales rep there did a nationwide search for me for an Aero SC, and found a handful of cars with the options/color combo that I wanted. They had none in stock, and would charge me for shipping between dealers unless they could swap a like car with another dealer. My other option was to order and wait.

Finally picked up my black Aero SC w/auto, Cold & Touring from Jim Ellis SAAB in Atlanta in December 2005-they had the car in their showroom floor. I cut a roundtrip flight home to NO from Washington, DC short and stopped in Atlanta-bought it, and drove it home.

I found this car as a result of the search at Gerry Lane-Gerry Lane couldn't secure a car in the short timeframe I had to buy, and understood the time constraints I had.
