I thought maybe I was the only one with this problem. I first experienced this shortly after purchasing the car (2006 Aero SC - 6speed auto), and have had the chance to perform "DOEs" to identify the exact situation. Any time I make a right hand (have not been able to duplicate left hand turn yet) with the car in 2nd gear - if the stability control comes on, when I accelerate out of the turn (still in 2nd) it will accelerate up to ~6300rpms, go into "neutral world", rev to over 7000rpms, then drop into 3rd (while at 7000 rpms) -- Produces one heck of a jolt and the question wether or not your transmission is still there. If the stability control does not come on, it is fine - no issue.
I assume it is just a strange shift pattern error in the software that the engineers didn't experience in prototypes.
I asked my dealership to look at it when I was in for service, but their Engine Control Computer was down that day.
Please let me know if you get any resolution.
