I am a first-time Saab owner (2007 9-3 2.0T), and I understand there are several features that can be programmed into the computer. We asked our local dealer to program the horn to sound when the doors are locked or unlocked via the remote. They successfully programmed it to beep when locking. However, it is completely annoying when unlocking. It beeps TWO times when unlocking the driver door, FOUR times when unlocking all four doors, and another THREE times when the trunk is opened. A trip to the store will lead to SEVEN beeps when loading the car, which is annoying and embarrassing! Our dealer has assured us that this is the only way to link the horn to the locks, but I find it hard to believe that Saab engineers are this senseless.
Our second request was to have the doors lock automatically once a certain MPH is reached. It was programmed in, but it goes haywire at times, locking and unlocking sporadically. Our dealer said GM is aware of this defect and has recommended this feature to be disabled. I know this is a European car, so things will be different. But even my used Ford Taurus has these basic features. Has anyone else experienced this???
