Do you have over 50k miles? I'm pretty sure the ABS continues to work with the stability control light blaring, yeah you could live without it.
I'm dubious of a module failure diagnosis. Module failure is usually quite rare. It's always, always sensors. Do the guys who did it really know what they're doing? I'd get a second opinion.
Do read your consumer/warranty booklet. There might be some extended coverage for safety items, seatbelts are an example.
