I put in the same unit in my 03 9-3 earlier this year. The Circuit City by me was totally clueless. I ended up using the FM transmitter and running the antenna under the glove box and up the passenger side, along the top of the dash, with the antenna itself resting on the dashboard. I had it in the shop about a month later because of an ignition problem, and the technician offered to "tidy up" the wires seeing as he already had the dash mostly apart. He ran the power cord through the transmission tunnel to the outlet in the center console. He tucked the antenna wire inside the dash. It comes out on the top right of the dash, runs along the joint of the windshield and dash, and up to the antenna. It's not 'factory' neat, but it's pretty good, especially considering they didn't charge me anything for it.
The only problems I've had is that the plug for the power cord broke last month. I had to buy a replacement. Right now, the wire for that one is just running alongside the transmission tunnel. The easiest thing to do would be to cut the plug off the other one, attach the jack on the new cord and pull it through. I've also had a few problems, locally and while travelling, with the FM transmitter. Occasionally I run into a local FM station on the same frequency. Later this month, I'm just going to break down and pay the $200 the dealer quoted me to install an aux input. If I haven't tidied up the power cord by them, I'll ask them to do it.
