Or at 6-month intervals, whichever comes first... My wife does not put very many miles on her 9-3SC so I use the 50% oil life or 6-month rule. The oil life monitor seems to extend the interval out past 12,000 miles, just too long in my opinion. Her driving is mostly short trips at under 45mph.
I change the oil myself using ELF Excellium meeting the GM LL-A-025 spec, previously used Mobil 1.
