Amplifier on the way out?

Suddenly realised that the clicking sound of the turn indicator of my 93SS Aero is gone. The sound system is also not working. The warning chime for not putting on seat belt etc has also disappeared.
The Saab service adviser said that the amplifier under the front left seat is probably toasted. When the Tech II was used to confirm the observation, the chime returned and everything is back to normal.
Just wondering if the amp is going south or just some connection issues somewhere?
