On wax stains, just use as much on a cloth as you need to cover the stain and rub with a cloth until the stain is gone. It's pretty quick. Keep rubbing away with a non-oily part of the same cloth until you have taken most all of the oil away. Then clean with a product like Back to Black and you shouldn't have oily handles. Soapy water is an optional middle step.
On the '99 9-3, the sills were a heavy plastic and gathered gritty road dirt. About once a year, I'd brush peanut oil in well and keep rubbing until the sills were all clean. Then I'd wash the sills (I use GM Multi-Wash - great product for a host of soap jobs.) If I had enough energy, left I'd go at these dark gray sills with Back-to-Black and they'd stay fairly easy to clean for some time.
The '07 won't need that. The wax I use doesn't stain plastics and the sills are shiny plastic - not grainy plastic - so these are waxed.
