Getting the car detailed does not make a difference. They should have sent you a kit (I got one) telling what their standards are. The kit says tires must have 4/32" tread (my lease said 8/32" but I think there letters should control since I am realying on them) and you will have to buy tires if they are less. There is also a circle and if the scratch is bigger than the circle you have to pay. Pretty reasonable but the car should be clean but not perfect. One thing they don't tell is that if the dealer decides to buy your car for his lot then you are off the hook. I don't know how you would know that. I have one tire less than 4/32" so I think I will ahve to do something. Other than that I am just going to clean it out and bring it back. Also If you buy another Saab you can probably negotiate the costs with the dealer. He can waive the turn in fee I think if you buy or lease another Saab.
