Note that switching from non-vented to vented rotors also requires replacing the calipers, since the vented rotors are substantially thicker.
In reality, very little braking occurs from the back brakes of a Saab, unless for example you have a heavily loaded Wagon or are towing something. If the rear brakes wear out substantially sooner than the fronts, I'd check the parking brake mechanism for proper operation (both mechanically and by the user).
