I just tested the Aero this weekend and poked around the trunk. It seems there is some dampening material between the top and bottom of the rear speaker deck. The salesperson said something about it too, but really didn't have much to offer regarding specifics. I certainly didn't hear as much road/tire, suspension (smoother ride too...I thought), and exhaust/engine noise. The constant growl was muted a bit which made me happy. Actually, the two things I don't like about my '06 (noise, and crappy stereo) are now fixed. The 2.0 I drove last week w/ 16" wheels was definitely quiet, but I didn't have anything to compare it to.

(on a side note, I just don't think I can afford to lease another Aero again, and I certainly can't afford a new. Of course, the lease offered was for 27 mos/10k miles, comfort and touring packages, auto trans, for $1000 down and $460 (approx. a month). Not too bad, I think and the 2.0 with auto trans. and better stereo was approxm $360 month. Sigh...)
