My wipers on my 2004 Arc had its windshield and inspection sticker replaced recently and I have noticed as of late that the wipers do not work in the “rain sensor” mode. The sensor appears to be working. I am basing this on Page 101 in my manual. It indicates that a sensor malfunction will cause the wipers to work on low speed continuously. I get the normal one swipe calibration wiper sweep, but the never turn on????
I also tried adjusting the level of sensitivity but it has no effect??? Again if I increase the sensitivity I still get the calibration swipe. The wipers do not come on??? I always sent them when it is not raining and the windshield is dry.
The only thing I can figure is it must be related to the recent windshield or possibly my inspection sticker location. My local glass shop had to wait a week for the correct glass. He did indicate that the “rain sensor” required a unique type glass.
Unfortunately it has been raining in here in cow Hampshire for what seems like weeks, and I miss my automatic wipers. I am not getting any errors in the display. My nearest SAAB dealer is about an hour away the service is great but you waist a day getting their and back. I just wanted to ping the BB to see if I am missing something or just being dumb.
