The software update to run the cooling fans longer after the engine is shut off, is for 2008 aero's only. Also make sure if your coolant expantion tank was replaced, that they also replaced the hoses as per TSB 260-2695. They should have also replaced the reservoir cap.
Here is the info about the software update.
Subject: Cooling Fan run time
Models:
2008 9-3 Aero models
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Note: this s/w update ONLY pertains to MY 2008 models. There currently is no s/w update for 2006-2007.
CONDITION/CONCERN:
A customer may comment that a LOW COOLANT message is shown on SID
RECOMMENDATION/INSTRUCTIONS:
If a condition of leaking coolant expansion tank is found on a 9-3 Aero with V6 engine, in addition to replacing the tank and performing the hose connection changes as described in TSB 260-2695, update ME9 engine management software using Tech2 version 135.000 or later.
This softward update increases the cooling fan run time to further cool down the underhood temperature in extreme conditions.
