On my 2006, they are all switched; in all likeliness your 2008 is the same. So, any one of them will be fine for your cooler, but none for your solar charger. What I have done in the past is to purchase a 12v lighter socket extension cord (I got mine at Radio Shack), and cut off the male end so I'm left with the female socket attached to cord. I've then connected the negative side of the cord to a suitable ground in the hatch area and the positive side to a constant +12v source. Finding that may prove to be the challenge, assuming you want this additional socket in the hatch area. I'd start with the rear electrical center; located behind a cover in the left-rearmost corner of the car. You can buy an "extend a fuse" adapter at most auto supply stores to tap into a always live circuit once you find one.
