Regarding the last dash rattle. Last night's attempts were futile.
I squeezed some 1/8" x 3/4" felt weatherstripping between the dash and the windshield and that didn't make a difference.
I also found that the cowl panel under the hood/under the wiper arms is quite noisy. Under it is a flimsy water shield for the cabin air filter. That shield is NOISY. I laminated the underside with a few strips of some 1.5" butyl rubber weatherstripping that was about 1/8" or less deep. That area is quieter but that wasn't the culprit either. While I was in there I realized that the hoses to the WW nozzles were noisy as well. I strategically wrapped donuts of weatherstripping around them such that banging on the hood no longer resulted in that awful noise.
That wasn't the source either but all of things do help the car just feel more solid and quiet.
Anybody know how to remove the defroster vents without breaking them?
I will not post again until I find the problem and fix it.
Bill
