I had the same problem on my 03 9-3. I've had it in dealer numerous times and had a bunch of things replaced under warrenty, such as struts, sway bar, and the steering. I read a post saying it was maybe bushins from where the body attaches to the frame. My car is well out of warrenty (113K) and the noise comes and goes especialy in cold wheather. I haven't had any issues with it yet except for the fact it can get quite annoying not knowing what the noise is. I have never had any irregular tire wear issues and I still have my origional brake pads and rotors on the front end. The dealer says they see that alot in the 9-3. I'm not implying to ignore the problem if you are concerned about safety, but my car is getting some age and it has never seemed to compromise the structural integrity of the car. Their are many posts on this forum about the "noise" that may be helpful. Good luck.
