Turbo X and the Aero XWD (my car) need 17"s. You'd have to have pretty darn tall sidewalls on 16's to make up the OD diff, and XWD has large calipers (13.5" I seem to recall) so I doubt they would clear 16" rim ID---and God forbid I find specs anywhere documented. I am guessing that my 17x7's have the 5x110 lug pattern and 41mm offset, but I don't have the brake size/clearance specs.
Lots of responses about years past. This year there are no high perf snows in 225 or 235/50 to be had (my commute is rather unique), and Tire Rack's (via phone) said their new policy is they won't sell you non TPMS config if your car is TPMS, so I could figure out offset/lug pat for 17x7 and even get some late model GM wheels but figured the brake cooling would be inadequate and I'd catch hell on any warranty if/when req'd by the dealer and they saw those wheels on there. Wish I could find some new take-off rims somewhere...
