I thought I had become imune to the frustration of the enamel suddenly popping off our chrome plated SAAB emblems, until it happened to my wife's 9-3SC yesterday. The entire emblem is now a chrome plated circle! She said the emblem was intact when she left school and loaded the detris and booty of the Second Grader's Valentine's Day Party in the back of her car. All enamel was missing by the time she arrived home.

List price for a 9-3SC rear emblem is $50! Wow! I think the CV uses the same large rear emblem.

I was able to find a new emblem for "only" $34, hopefully it will arrive soon. My wife sniffles a little and coos "my poor car" everytime she sees the blank badge. I will definitely wax all emblems to prolong their life what ever little bit the wax coating allows.
