I've done more than a few wheel bearings, thermostat housing covers, don't forget about the coolant overflow tanks, and we've had a couple radiator fan speed controllers.
Don't let the AAA guys jump the car with the 18v booster battery, I've had to do 4 radio fixes now from fried modules.
Depends a lot on where you live Josh, here where it's very hot we see a lot more issues with the radiators or hoses blowing, more cracked overflow tanks, and more thermostat housings and water pumps because the whole system is stressed a little more. I always thought the SS cooling system ran a bit towards the ragged edge, and it does an awesome job of keeping the coolant right at about 90*C no matter what, but here in LA all the plastic stuff in the cooling system takes a bit of a toll.
I haven't had a single issue with the 6-speed manual transmission, other than the shifter cables are sometimes a little squeaky, they seem very rugged - the automatics on the other hand are starting to do some weird things on lots of my customer's cars, one woman in particular is on her 3rd radiator for the ATF/coolant mixing issue and now her transmission is starting to bang down into 1st.
If you live in the rust belt areas there can be some weird things happen if any of the wiring connectors start to corrode, they seem somewhat susceptible to that, especially in the Xenon headlamp control modules underneath the headlamp housings - I've had to replace about 4-5 of those and every single one that was burned up I found the connector full of water. Wouldn't hurt to pull them apart and put some dielectric grease around the perimeter of the gasket, because even used ones are usually something like $175-$200.
Ok, that got long, but all in all I don't think they have the same level of mechanical problems as the earlier 9-3. Only takes about an hour or 90 mins to do the alternator, serp. belt is easy, the engine mounts and suspension bushing last forever (we haven't had any of the issues with the springs breaking like back East).
