Hi K
I just posted last week about our 2 keys and getting dumped in our canoe; soaking wet. my key was OK and my wife's did just like yours, only worse. It kept spontaneously making the "panic" button be activated, so the horn and lights kept going off in the driveway. It would still start the car. Poster suggested putting it in the sun a couple of days. Dry it out and re flash it in the car by starting it with the bad key, it may well fix itself like my wife's did. We're still getting a new electronic key part at the dealer, so we'll have an extra if it decides to go south. It's under $100. The inner metal key is the expensive part, and you won't need that. You need to bring all keys to the dealer when you get a new one, since when they flash a new key, all keys need to be reflashed since they enter a new code. If you leave one at home it will no longer work.
