I've had my new 09 SC for about 1 1/2 years, and it took me some time to get used to the acc controls. For example, if I press the windshield button (the top button on the middle knob) the fan comes on almost full speed to the windshield, and the read defroster comes on. I would like it it the rear defroster didn't always come on. Also, if I simply turn the middle knob one notch to the right while it's in this "windshield" mode when it's off, it again turns the fan way up.
I agree with what was said about the Pirelli P6's. I'm in Cleveland, and it's kind of scary driving this car on snow and ice. My former 1997 900s never skidded.
I've also had this car in the shop way too much for warranty work, in my opinion, for a new car. Several times for the same issue. My biggest gripe on this is the left seat trim on the driver's seat - twice it's broken on me. The first time the dealer replaced it under warranty. The second time they didn't want to until I contacted Saab customer service any got them involved. They replaced it again (goodwill?), and while it's so far not broken, it doesn't seem to fit correctly (there's a gap between it and the seat.) Has anyone else had this problem?
I do miss a couple of things that were standard equipment on my older 1997 900s: heated seats, front fog lights, and a weather band on the radio.
Still, overall, i'm pretty happy with the car.
Mike B.
