In the 2006 models, which use fibre optics to distribute the audio signal, the amplifier sits in the right hand under floor compartment. The sub-woofer is enclosed in a deep bucket molded into the underside of the rear floor compartment. This bucket slips into the spare tire hub area when the floor is lowered into position.

Is the sub-woofer a separate component in the 2007 and later models? In the 2006 modles the sub-woofer makes the rear floor piece fairly heavy (watch your fingers when lowering!) and fully consumes all storage capacity in the spare's hub area.
