Fit was not a problem at all -- sorry to hear about your problem. I added both the upper and lower bars within a yr or so of getting the '06 at the end of the model yr so the fit was just about perfect and took only 10 min for the upper strut brace. I added some plastic caps over the four bolts to keep any water or road grit from accumulating in the "wells".
