05' 9-3 2.0t Stalling, need some help on this one... Posted by Chadwick [Email] (#569) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Chadwick) on Tue, 12 Jul 2011 09:10:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hey everyone,
2005 9-3 2.0t m/t. 88k/mi.
Customer had car towed in from dealer needing an ignition switch. Replaced ISM and battery and sent customer on their way. Get a call 15 minutes later saying car is broken down on the side of the road doing exactly what it was doing before.
The customer led me to believe initially that the car was not starting, so I didn't question to ISM job. After talking to them about it further, the car stalls after being ran for 15 minutes or so. The car starts and run fine, but just dies after 15 minutes or so. Wait 5 minutes, car will restart fine, run for 10, die, and so on.
I've had this issue before and it was an ECM. Programmed a used one and the fault persists. Though I can't rule out that the used ECM may be bad as well as those earlier ones had problems. I have let it sit outside the shop and idle, die, restart, etc for 4 cycles and still no DTC's.
No DTC's present. New throttle body, P/S pump, radiator, and thermostat last time it was in at the dealer.
Almost acts like a "cranky" CPS.
Any techs have this issue before?
Best,
-Chad
